Thiamin (B1) may enhance circulation, help with blood formation and the metabolism of carbohydrates. It is also required for the health of the nervous system and is used in the biosynthesis of a number of cell constituents, including the neurotransmitter acetylcholine and gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA). It is used in the manufacture of hydrochloric acid, and therefore plays a part in digestion.
In children it is required for growth and has shown some indication to assist in arthritis and cataracts as well as infertility.

Use a combination of brown, black and white seeds for the best flavor.
Mustard-Glazed Ham Slices Recipes
Have pre-cooked ham on hand to make these jazzed ham slices for the main dish in your next meal.
- 1 pound precooked ham, three or four thick slices
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 generous teaspoon Dijon-style mustard
Preheat broiler. Place ham slices on broiler rack set in broiler pan. Mix remaining ingredients and spread atop ham slices. Broil five to six inches from heat source until the meat heats through (3 to 4 minutes). Recipe makes 3 or 4 servings.
